Partner with Pastor Tom and Jan in Reaching the Youth of our Generation!
We have the privilege of showing NIU students both residents and internationals, the love of Jesus by serving them in many ways like giving them Bibles, offering them Bible studies, and offering worship services. Our CMI Campus House, just across the street from the Art and Music buildings is a hub for spiritual outreach hosting weekly meetings where the gospel is heard by the international students who visit and who live there. We have 12 people living there from 6 different nations. As part of the Campus Outreach, we purchase approximately $500 a year on Bibles, Bible studies, 12-week model babies for Pro-Life to provide a witness at our CMI Table that Jesus gives life spiritually and biologically. We would love for you to partner with us in reaching NIU with the gospel! Please consider a monthly contribution or a special gift.
Tithe
The word "tithe" means "tenth" and it is a way of honoring God with the first 10% of our income. Tithing was created for our benefit; it keeps our heart soft. It teaches us how to keep God first in our lives and how to be unselfish people.
General Offering
In addition to the tithe we can give general offerings to the Lord. General offerings are given above the tithe and represent free-will offerings. These special gifts are limitless and can be directed among ministry needs as the church eldership deems necessary.
Sponsor International Student Housing
NIU is buzzing with international student activity with hundreds of Students from China, Congo, India, Pakistan, and many other nations walking the halls. To make this multi-residential rooming housing available to them we need to keep the rents low but this means we are currently operating at a deficit with our monthly and annual financial costs. Our insurance cost for multi-residential housing rose $1,000. The monthly deficit at the CMI Campus House is approximately $2,500 which includes all increased costs for annual fees, insurance, utilities, and repair averages. Jesus rightly said, “Lift up your eyes, the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.” Hungry students take Bibles and rubber babies every week, so consider becoming more blessed in eternity by being “the feet of those who bring good news.”
